Socio-cultural tourism
Tourism has multi-dimensional impacts upon the regions that it operates, these dimensions include economic, social, cultural and environmental factors (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, 1976; Yidiz, Celik & Ozcan, 2011.) It is these factors and the impacts that each can have upon the local environment that must be considered by those responsible for tourism planning and region development. Tourism can affect the culture, thoughts, clothing, behaviours and lifestyles of local people of a destination, these can be both positive and negative (Yildiz, Celik & Ozcan, 2011).
